We care!

Sustainable coffee, Homemade Swedish fika & Conference

We know how important coffee is to many. For all of us who can not think clearly before the first cup of coffee in the morning. Therefore, we make sure that there is always a cup of really good coffee for our guests. But we know that it is not just good coffee that is important, but the most important thing is what happens over a cup of coffee. Because during the coffee breaks, creative strategies, the best ideas, and perhaps the most sustainable relationships are created.

Home baked with love and care

The Swedish Fika is a well-known thing. We all Swedes remember grandma’s big party with seven kinds of cakes, buns, roll cakes, and other goodies. For us at Stufvenäs, it is important with traditions, but preferably with a sense of our time. That’s why we set the coffee table every day with something for all tastes. We mix healthy between goodies and cakes. Because we are all worth something good sometimes, right?

And for every cup you drink, you help us, Balck Coffee and Luiz Paulo to a better future for coffee growers and future coffee drinkers!
Our coffee comes from Luiz and his son Gustavo who grow coffee on the farm Fazenda Santa de Izabel in Brazil as second-generation coffee farmers. The coffee is then roasted in Kalmar by Sebastian Balck. The coffee is grown on volcanic slopes that have unique conditions for coffee farming. The mineral-rich soil, with reserves of rainforest around the plantations, provides a unique biotope that results in a qualitative and long-term sustainable coffee. Luiz has actively chosen to grow only special coffee without pesticides. The coffee they grow grows in volcanic soil high up on slopes, which means that the coffee must be picked by hand. In Brazil, it is normally done by machines and once again Luiz and Gustavo show that they stand out from industrial production by hand-picking all coffee. This gives a more selected quality and through the slopes together with the fertile volcanic soil and parts of the rainforest that function as shade trees, you get a unique coffee. Powerful, sweet, and creamy with low acidity that is excellent as an espresso or a darker filter coffee. In addition, Luiz takes great social responsibility as 30 families work and are dependent on the 33 hectare plantations. 16 hectares is also Atlantic rainforest.
