In the 17th century Stufvenäs belonged to the owners of the Värnanäs Estate, located a few kilometres up north. A shipyard was located there at the time, and this is where the fast sailing full-rigged vessel Octavia was built.
Surely some of these noble oaks turned into materials for beautiful ships.
Together with our guide you go for a walk on our estate and you get a guidance of the historic place of Stufvenäs. You will learn more about the king Gustav Vasa, who owns this estate in the 16th century. We also take a walk out on Örarevet to look at it´s peculiar and unique nature.Under the guidance of and together with one of our guides, you pick herbs, edible plants and berries in the forest. Things that will add character and more taste to the raw produce you will find in the local, typical Småland larder. It may have, for example traditional sausages, fish, cheese and a lot of different vegetables, depending on the season. Together with one of our chefs you cook the food over an open fire. The table is beautiful decorated when you gathering for a memorable meal in the historic landscape. Under the open sky and prestigious oak tree, you eat, talk and enjoy the experience. The food tastes so much better when it is eaten in the company of friends outside in the nature. Not to mention, to make coffee in a pot over an open fire. That tastes even better and give you a whole new experience.
