Stufvenäs has a long history. In the old brewery that stands at the front of our garden, we have a summer café that has the obvious name Café Brygghuset.
In the middle of the 20th century, several of the buildings on Stufvenäs burned down in a lightning strike. Remains the main building and the brewery. The brewery was used as a utility room. Here they washed, tidied up the slaughter when the pig has been slaughtered, boiled ”pig potatoes” (potatoes for pig feed) and baked in the oven. Since Brygghuset on Stufvenäs is older than 1855, they have certainly, as the name suggests, brewed here and with great certainty, the brandy boiler was in here. The burning of household necessities was banned in 1855.
Now Brygghuset offers a nice hang with jazzy tones both in our garden or indoors. Here you will find our talented kitchen team’s pastries and delicacies under our own quality label ”Made by Stufvenäs”. We have also carefully and lovingly selected some of the best products from local producers that we have chosen to call ”Close by Stufvenäs”.
Our own Småland natural coffee roasted at Balck Coffee in Kalmar, sweets from Sockerbageriet and Konfektyrfabriken in Helsingborg, and our own absolutely fantastic pastries, jams, jams and ice cream packed in a unique environment make this one of the summer’s best places to visit. We offer you an experience for all the senses!
Café Brygghuset has closed for the season and will open at the end of June 2023. But there is always coffee and cake to buy inside the inn. Warm welcome!
